- It is also known as a “Masjid” in Arabic.
Features of a Mosque:
- Dome: Many mosques have a large dome on top, which makes them easy to recognize.

- Minaret: This is a tall tower from which the call to prayer, or “Adhan,” is made.

- Prayer Hall: The main area inside where people pray. It is usually open and has no seats, so people can sit or kneel to pray.

- Mihrab: A small niche in the wall that shows the direction of Mecca, where Muslims face when they pray.

What Happens in a Mosque?
- People come to pray, especially during the five daily prayers.
- It is also a place for learning, gatherings, and community events.
Respect in a Mosque:
- People take off their shoes before entering.
- There is a focus on cleanliness, and people often perform “Wudu” (washing) before prayer.
Mosques Around the World:

- Mosques can look different depending on where they are, but they serve the same purpose everywhere.
- Some are small, while others are large and can hold thousands of people.
