Transport

  • Transport means moving people or things from one place to another.

There are different ways to transport things. Some common types are:

  • Walking: We use our legs to move from one place to another.
  • Bicycles: We ride bikes to go places faster.
  • Cars: Cars are vehicles that we drive on the road.
  • Buses: Buses are big vehicles that carry many people.
  • Trains: Trains run on tracks and carry people and things.
  • Ships: Ships go on water and carry cargo (things) across the sea.
  • Planes: Planes fly in the sky and take people to faraway places.

We need transport to:

  • Go to school, the park, or visit friends and family.
  • Move things like food and toys from one place to another.
  • When using cars, buses, or bikes, we must follow traffic rules and wear seatbelts or helmets for safety.
  • Buses and trains are public transport. Many people can use them together.
  • Planes help us travel to different countries quickly.
  • Ships and boats are used on rivers and oceans to move things.
  • Long ago, people used horses and carts to move things. There were no cars or airplanes!
  • Did you know the fastest land animal, the cheetah, is much faster than any car?
  • We should use transport that is good for the Earth, like walking, biking, or electric cars.
