Safety At The Road

key notes:
Use Pedestrian Crossings:

- Always use zebra crossings, footbridges, or pedestrian signals to cross the road.
Look Both Ways:
- Stop and look left, then right, and left again before crossing.
- Ensure the road is clear or cars have stopped.
Obey Traffic Signals:

- Follow the traffic lights for pedestrians. Cross only when the green pedestrian light is on.
Walk, Don’t Run:

- Walk calmly across the road instead of running to avoid accidents.
Hold an Adult’s Hand:

- Always hold an adult’s hand while crossing the road, especially in busy areas.
Stay on the Footpath:
- Walk on the sidewalk or footpath. Avoid walking on the road.

Avoid Distractions:
- Do not use mobile phones, headphones, or toys while crossing the road. Stay alert.

Recognize Road Signs:
- Learn simple road signs like “STOP,” “SCHOOL ZONE,” and “PEDESTRIAN CROSSING.”

Be Visible:
- Wear bright or reflective clothing, especially in the evening or during bad weather.
Wait for Buses Safely:
- Wait for the bus on the footpath, away from the road.
- Board the bus only after it has fully stopped.
