Skip–counting
key notes :
🥏Skip counting deals with counting by a number, other than 1.
🥏For example, skip count by 2, skip count by 3, skip count by 5, 10 or 100.
🥏Skip counting is taught to us in our primary classes while learning counting numbers. It helps kids to count objects quickly.

Skip Counting By 2
Here, we add the number 2 for each counting so that the counting is represented in alternate numbers. Suppose we start counting from 2, then, skipping the count by 2 for each step we can write as;
2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, …. |
Skip Counting By 3
Here, we add the number 3 for each step of counting.
3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36, 39, 42, 45, 48, 51, 54, 57, 60,…… |
Skip Counting By 5
When we count skipping 5 numbers in between, then we skip count by 5. Let us start counting by skipping 5 and write the succeeding numbers.
5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, … |
Skip Counting By 10
When we count skipping 10 numbers in between, then we skip count by 10. Let us start counting by skipping 10 and write the succeeding numbers.
10, 20 ,30 ,40 ,50 ,60 ,70 ,80 ,90 ,100 ,110 ,120 ,130 ,140 ,150, ….. |
