Counting patterns – up to 100
key notes :
A number pattern is a pattern or sequence in a series of numbers. This pattern generally establishes a common relationship between all numbers.
For example :
- 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, … Here, we get the numbers in the pattern by skip counting by 5.
- 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, … Here, we get the numbers in the pattern by skip counting by 3.
Count forward by tens. Add 10 each time you count. 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 ……………………………
- Count forward by threes. Add 3 each time you count. 66, 69, 72, 75 ……………………….
- Count backward by twos. subtract 2 each time you count. 34, 32, 30, 28, 26, 24, 22, …………………
