Hundreds chart

Hundred chart by Delta publications

A Hundreds Chart is like a number map! It’s a grid with ten rows and ten columns. Each box has a number, starting with 1 and going all the way to 100. It helps us see how numbers are organized.

  • Rows go across.
  • Columns go up and down.

Think of it like a big checkerboard but with numbers instead of colors!

Each number has its special spot.

Using the Hundreds Chart is easy!

  • Finding Numbers: Want to find the number 25? Just look for it on the chart! All the numbers are in order.
  • Counting: You can count up or down. If you want to add 10, just go straight down one row! If you want to subtract 10, go straight up one row!
  • Patterns: The Hundreds Chart shows patterns. All the numbers in a row end with the same digit (like all the numbers in the 20s row). The numbers in a column have the same digit in the ones place!
  • Practice every day!
  • Point and count: Use your finger to point to each number and say it out loud.
  • Play number games: Make it fun!

Here are some ways to help you learn:

  • Sing a number song: There are many songs about counting to 100.
  • Ask questions: Ask your parents or teachers to quiz you on numbers.
  • Use blocks or toys: Count your toys or blocks to practice your numbers.

The Hundreds Chart is your friend! Use it to help you learn your numbers and become a number superstar!

Now that we’ve learned about the Hundreds Chart, try these activities:
