What are Even and Odd Numbers?

  • Even Numbers: Numbers that can be divided into two equal parts without any remainder.
  • Odd Numbers: Numbers that cannot be divided into two equal parts.

How to Identify Even Numbers

  • Even numbers end with 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8.
  • Examples: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14.

How to Identify Odd Numbers

  • Odd numbers end with 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9.
  • Examples: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13.

Quick Check Method

Look at the last digit (ones place):

  • If it is 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 → Even number.
  • If it is 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 → Odd number.

Examples

  • 24 → last digit 4 → Even.
  • 37 → last digit 7 → Odd.
