Let’s learn about even and odd numbers!

  • Even numbers are numbers that can be divided into two equal groups. Think of sharing cookies equally with a friend – if you can share them all, it’s an even number!
  • Odd numbers are numbers that can’t be divided into two equal groups. If you try to share them, there will be one left over.

Even numbers always end in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8. They’re like the friendly, shareable numbers!

Look at this number line:

Ask your family to play the even-odd game! Choose even or odd. Then call out a number. If your number is the type of number you selected, you get a point!

Count all the toys you have. How many are even and how many are odd?

When you see a number, try to guess if it’s even or odd.
