📌 Addition Means Putting Things Together

When we add, we join groups of objects.
Example: 🍎🍎 + 🍎🍎🍎 = 5 apples.

📌 Use Pictures to Count Easily

Pictures help you see the numbers.
👉 Count each group one by one.
Example: 🐶🐶 + 🐶🐶🐶 = 5 dogs.

📌 Count All the Objects

After finding the number in each group, count everything together.
Example:
🧁🧁 (2 cupcakes) + 🧁🧁🧁🧁 (4 cupcakes)
Total = 2 + 4 = 6 🧁

📌 Use Skip Counting to Add Faster

If one group has many objects, start with that number and count on.
Example:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5) + ⭐️⭐️ (2)
Start at 5 → 6, 7 → 7 stars ✨

📌 Sums Will Be Up to 20 Only

Make sure your total does not go above 20.
Example:
🐻🐻🐻🐻 (4) + 🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻 (6)
= 10 bears 🐻✨ (still less than 20)

📌 Look for Ten Frames (Helpful Tool)

Sometimes pictures are shown in boxes of 10.

This helps you add faster.
Example:
🔟 frame + 6 dots = 16

📌 Use the “Count On” Strategy

If you know one number, add the rest by counting on fingers or pictures.
Example:
Start with 8 🧸 then add 3:
8 → 9 → 10 → 11
Total = 11
