Describe the difference between related words
Keynotes :
What are Related Words? |
Related words are words that have similar meanings or are connected to the same idea. They might be synonyms (words that mean almost the same thing) or words that are used in the same context. But remember, even though they are related, they have different shades of meaning!
Let’s Look at Some Examples! |
Happy vs. Joyful Happy Joyful | Both words mean feeling good, but ‘joyful’ is a stronger feeling than ‘happy’. Happy is like a sunny day. Joyful is like winning a prize! |
Big vs. Huge Big Huge | Both words mean something is large, but ‘huge’ means very, very big! Big is like an elephant. Huge is like a giant! |
Look vs. Stare Look Stare | Both words mean to use your eyes, but ‘stare’ means to look at something for a long time. Look is like glancing at a picture. Stare is like watching a movie! |
