A singular noun means only one person, place, animal, or thing.

A plural noun means more than one person, place, animal, or thing.

🧸 Rule 1 – Just add -s

  • 🐈 Cat β†’ Cats
  • 🐦 Bird β†’ Birds

πŸ“ Rule 2 – Add -es (for words ending in s, sh, ch, x, z)

  • 🚌 Bus β†’ Buses

πŸ¦‹ Rule 3 – Change y to ies (if there’s a consonant before y)

  • 🐢 Puppy β†’ Puppies
