Pronoun-verb agreement
Key Notes:
| 🌟 Pronoun-Verb Agreement 🌟 |
Definition: A pronoun and a verb must match each other. This means the verb changes depending on the pronoun we use. ✅
- I → am / like / have
- Example: I am happy 😃
- I like apples 🍎
- He / She / It → is / likes / has
- Example: He is tall 🏀
- She likes flowers 🌸
- It has a tail 🐶
- We / You / They → are / like / have
- Example: We are friends 🤗
- You like ice cream 🍦
- They have toys 🧸
- Singular pronouns → singular verbs
- Plural pronouns → plural verbs
- Always check the subject (who is doing the action) 👀
- I am a student 🎒
- She is my sister 👧
- We are playing outside 🏃♂️🏃♀️
- They have a big dog 🐕
- If the pronoun changes, the verb must change too!
- ✅ Match them correctly to make a perfect sentence ✨
