Place sentences with irregular verbs on a timeline
Key Notes:-
1. Understanding Irregular Verbs:
- Irregular verbs do not follow the regular pattern of adding -ed for the past tense.
- Common examples include: go → went, eat → ate, see → saw, and have → had.
2. Present and Past Tense Examples:
- Present Tense: The action is happening now.
- “I go to school every day.”
- “She eats lunch at noon.”
- “They see their friends at the park.”
- “We have a dog.”
- Past Tense: The action has already happened.
- “I went to school yesterday.”
- “She ate lunch at noon.”
- “They saw their friends at the park.”
- “We had a dog when I was younger.”
3. Creating a Timeline:
- Draw a horizontal line on paper.
- Mark the left side as “Present” and the right side as “Past.”
- Place the sentences along the timeline based on when the action took place.
4. Example Placement:
- Present Side:
- “I go to school every day.” (Present)
- “She eats lunch at noon.” (Present)
- Past Side:
- “I went to school yesterday.” (Past)
- “She ate lunch at noon.” (Past)
