Use Pronoun-Verb Contractions 🤗✏️

A contraction is when we combine a pronoun and a verb and use an apostrophe (‘) to show missing letters.
💡 Example:

  • I + am → I’m
  • He + is → He’s
  • They + are → They’re

  1. Combine the pronoun and verb.
  2. Remove the missing letters.
  3. Put an apostrophe (‘) in place of the missing letters.

💡 Tip: The apostrophe shows something is missing.

  • I am → ___
  • He is → ___
  • They are → ___
  • We are → ___
  • She is → ___
  • I’m 😃 → I + am
  • You’re 👫 → You + are
  • He’s 🏃 → He + is
  • She’s 📖 → She + is
