🧠 Understand the Problem

Before adding, read the story carefully 👀📖
Ask yourself:

  • Who is in the story? 👦👧
  • What is happening? 🎒🍎
  • What numbers do I need to add? 🔢➕

Look for Addition Clues

Words that tell you to add:

  • Total 🟰
  • In all 🎉
  • Altogether 🤝
  • Sum 🧮
  • Combined 🧩

✏️ Write the Addition Sentence

Example:
“Raju has 23 marbles and his friend gives him 15 more.”
Write: 23 + 15 = ?
👉 Helps to keep the numbers clear and neat!

🧱 Add Using Tens and Ones

Break numbers:

  • Tens 🟨
  • Ones 🟩

Example:
23 = 2 tens + 3 ones
15 = 1 ten + 5 ones

Add tens → Add ones → Put together! 🎊

🔄 Regrouping (Carrying) When Needed

If ones add up to 10 or more
👉 Carry to the tens place.
Example: 7 + 8 = 15
Write 5, carry 1 to tens! 💡🔢

🧩 Answer in a Complete Sentence

Always answer like this:
👉 “Raju has 38 marbles in total.” 😊

This shows you understand the story! 🌟

🔍 Check Your Work

  • Did you add the correct numbers? ✔️
  • Does your answer make sense in the story? 🤔
  • Did you write the unit? (e.g., apples, books, toys) 🎒🍎🎈
