Measure using a centimeter ruler

🔹 What is a centimetre (cm)?

  • A centimetre is a unit used to measure length.
  • It is written as cm.
  • Example: A pencil may be 10 cm long.

🔹 Know your ruler

  • A ruler has numbers starting from 0.
  • Each small line shows 1 centimetre.
  • Longer lines help you count easily.

🔹 Start from zero

  • Always place the object at the 0 mark, not at the edge of the ruler.

🔹 Keep it straight

  • The object and ruler should be in a straight line.

🔹 Read the number at the end

  • Look at where the object ends.
  • The number there tells the length in centimetres.

🔹 Example

  • If a crayon ends at 8, its length is 8 cm.

✏️ Simple Steps

1️⃣ Place the object at 0
2️⃣ Hold the ruler straight
3️⃣ Look at the end point
4️⃣ Read the number

🎯 Tips for Students
