Neck

Location: The neck is the part of the body that connects the head to the torso (body). It is located right under the head.

Function: The neck helps to support and move the head. It allows us to turn our heads to look around, up, and down.

Parts of the Neck:

  • Throat: The area in the front of the neck where you can feel your pulse.
  • Nape: The back of the neck.

Bones: The neck has several small bones called vertebrae that support it and help it move. These bones are part of the spine.

Muscles: The neck has muscles that help us move our head and keep it in place. These muscles also help us nod and turn our heads.

Care: It’s important to take care of your neck by sitting and standing up straight. Good posture helps keep your neck healthy.

Safety: Always be careful not to hurt your neck. For example, don’t lean too far back or let heavy things pull on your neck.
