Lower Limbs

Introduction to Lower Limbs:

  • They include the legs and feet.

Parts of the Lower Limbs:

  • Thigh: The upper part of the leg, between the hip and the knee.
  • Knee: The joint that connects the thigh to the lower leg.
  • Shin: The front part of the lower leg below the knee.
  • Calf: The back part of the lower leg.
  • Ankle: The joint that connects the lower leg to the foot.
  • Foot: The part of the lower limb that touches the ground.

Functions of the Lower Limbs:

  • Walking and Running: The lower limbs help us move around by walking and running.
  • Standing: They support our body weight when we stand.
  • Jumping: They help us jump and play sports.

Basic Movements:

  • Walking: Moving one foot in front of the other.
  • Running: Moving quickly with both feet off the ground.
  • Jumping: Pushing off the ground with both feet to go into the air.
