Air Is Everywhere

  • Air is the invisible mixture of gases that surrounds us.
  • It is made up of oxygen, nitrogen, and other gases.
  • Air is all around us: inside homes, schools, parks, and even underwater!
  • It is in every room, every building, and outside in the atmosphere.
  • Although we can’t see air, we can feel it when the wind blows.
  • We can also see the effects of air, like when leaves move or flags flutter.
  • We need air to breathe. Oxygen from the air helps us live and stay healthy.
  • Animals and plants also need air to survive.
  • Air can help things move, like wind blowing a kite or a sailboat.
  • Sometimes air feels warm when the sun heats it, and other times it feels cold, especially when it’s windy.
  • Air helps sound travel. When someone talks or claps, the sound moves through the air to reach our ears.
  • Air is found all around the Earth, from the ground to the highest mountains and even up in the sky.
