Air Has Weight

Air is all around us, and we can’t see it, but we can feel it when the wind blows.

Air fills the space around us, inside buildings, and even inside our lungs when we breathe.

Yes, air has weight, even though we can’t see it. This is because air is made up of tiny particles called molecules that have mass.

We can prove that air has weight by using a balloon. If you blow up a balloon and weigh it, then let some air out and weigh it again, you will see that the balloon becomes lighter as the air leaves. This shows that the air inside the balloon has weight.

Air’s weight is important for things like weather patterns. It helps create winds and can move clouds in the sky.

  • Inflate a balloon and weigh it using a scale.
  • Slowly let the air out of the balloon and weigh it again.
  • Observe how the balloon becomes lighter when the air escapes.
