Safety On The Playground
key notes:
Importance of Playground Safety

- Playgrounds are for fun, but safety rules ensure no one gets hurt.
- Everyone should follow rules to protect themselves and others.
General Safety Rules
- Always wait your turn on equipment like slides and swings.
- Walk, don’t run, to avoid slipping or bumping into others.
- Stay away from broken or damaged equipment.
Using Playground Equipment Safely
- Swings: Sit down while swinging; hold tightly with both hands. Never walk in front or behind a moving swing.

- Slides: Climb up the steps, not the slide; slide down feet first.

- Climbing Frames: Use both hands and climb carefully. Don’t push or pull others.

Look Out for Others
- Watch where you are going to avoid collisions.
- Help friends if they trip or fall.
Safe Behavior

- No pushing, shoving, or rough playing.
- Follow the teacher’s or adult supervisor’s instructions.
Dressing for Safety
- Wear proper shoes for running and climbing. Avoid long, loose clothing or dangling accessories that could get caught.
Awareness of Surroundings
- Check the ground for sharp objects like broken glass or stones.
- Stay in the designated playground area and avoid playing near roads or fences.
Handling Emergencies
- If someone gets hurt, tell an adult immediately.
- Stay calm and give space for help to arrive.
