Seeing

  • Seeing is one of our five senses. It helps us understand the world around us.
  • We use our eyes to see things.
  • Eyes are the parts of our body that help us see.
  • We have two eyes, and they are located on our face.
  • Our eyes are like cameras. They take pictures of things we look at.
  1. Iris: The colored part of the eye. It can be blue, green, brown, or other colors.
  2. Pupil: The black dot in the middle of the iris. It gets bigger in the dark and smaller in the light.
  3. Retina: The back part of the eye where pictures are formed. It sends messages to our brains about what we see.
  4. Lens: Helps to focus light onto the retina.
  5. Eyelids and Eyelashes: Protect our eyes and keep them clean.
  • Light from objects enters our eyes.
  • The lens in our eyes focuses the light onto the retina.
  • The retina sends messages to our brain about the things we see.
  • Our brain interprets these messages, and that’s how we understand what we are looking at.
  • Different things have different colors.
  • Some colors are red, blue, green, yellow, and orange.
  • We can see colors because of the light that bounces off objects and enters our eyes.
  • We should not rub our eyes with dirty hands.
  • Reading or watching TV in dim light can hurt our eyes.
  • It’s good to take breaks while reading or using a computer.
  • Owls can see well in the dark.
  • Bees can see ultraviolet light, which we cannot see.
  • Seeing is an amazing sense that helps us explore and enjoy the world around us.
  • We should take good care of our eyes so we can continue to see and learn new things.
