Hearing
keynotes:
Introduction to Hearing:

- Hearing is one of our five senses that helps us understand sounds around us.
- Our ears help us hear different sounds, like music, talking, and even birds chirping.
Parts of the Ear:

Outer Ear:

- The part of the ear you can see is called the pinna or auricle.
- The ear canal is a pathway that leads to the middle ear.
Middle Ear:

- The eardrum or tympanic membrane is like a drum that vibrates when sound reaches it.
- Behind the eardrum are three tiny bones: the hammer, anvil, and stirrup.
Inner Ear:

- The cochlea is a snail-shaped part that helps turn vibrations into signals for the brain.
- The auditory nerve carries these signals to the brain, so we can understand what we’re hearing.
How We Hear:
Sound Waves:

- Sound is made up of tiny waves that travel through the air.
- These waves make our eardrum vibrate.
Vibrations:
- When the eardrum vibrates, it makes the tiny bones in our middle ear move too.
- These bones help the sound travel to the inner ear.
Cochlea and Brain:
- In the cochlea, tiny hair cells pick up the vibrations and send signals to the brain.
- Our brain then understands these signals as different sounds.
Taking Care of Our Ears:

- We need to protect our ears from loud noises, like fireworks or very loud music, to keep them healthy.
- We should also clean our ears gently and not put anything too deep inside them.
Conclusion:
- Hearing is an important sense that helps us enjoy the world of sounds around us.
- Our ears have different parts that work together to help us hear and understand sounds.
